Chrome for a Cause
Technology-driven holiday campaign that raised $1M for charity.
We invited Chrome's users to browse for a good cause: each tab they would open for a period of five days would drive up a donation that Google would make on the Chrome community's behalf. A Chrome user could watch their tab count increase throughout the day, and at each day's end the user could select which of the five participating charities their tabs would support. The campaign involved hundreds of thousands of participants and raised over 60 million "tabs" for charity.
